Photo 4: Waterfront ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/250 F-Stop: 8 Another weekend spent on a lake means another batch of photos from the lake. The weather was similar to last week, but there was a lot more happening along the coastline. That meant many more subjects to place within the composition of the frame.
I was going for a wider-angled shot this time, keeping the colors properly exposed while respecting the framing of the shot. I rather liked the layering of the what is in this photo. You've got water at the bottom, then land, then air. And on each of the rows is a strong emphasis on texture that reflects what's in the photograph. I would also like to point out the speed boat in the bottom right. With the exception of the flag, it's the only action in the photo. It's also the first place my eyes look at on this photo. Almost like the direction the boat is traveling is the direction the viewers' eyes are supposed to follow. I'd like to point out that the contrast of the different greens with the sky is a really nice added effect.
