I will say this: I intentionally cropped the original photo to this one, as the water had too much texture not to get a close up. It looks like you could grab it. The light blue colors contrast with a much more earthy tone residing in the background rather well.

I did not intentionally pick this time to take the photo however. I think the expert detail of this photo can mainly be attributed to the work of a camera that knows what shutter speed to change to when you only operate aperture. I played around with the AV setting this time and I gotta say, it was great! I know times to use the shutter speed, but not so much aperture. 

My plan is to continue using a camera that isolates that shift in the settings. I've heard taking on, ISO, aperture and shutter speed all at once can be daunting for newbies. Better heed that advice.
