Photo 30: Blacksmith ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/800 F-Stop: 5.6 The man hammering metal in the background is named Paul Webster. Built like man meant for metal-working, he has a quick mind, a clever sense of humor and no hair on his hands. That's because during the forge process, most of the hair gets singed in the process. Planning on having him make an appearance in a story for the Duluth News Tribune one of these days.
This photo was taken at Harvest Fest, a sort of Grand Exchange of area planters looking to keep up with old friends or break into the local farming market. Along with the farmers market, it also showcases dances, crafts and of course: blacksmiths. Visiting the Harvest Fest was recommended to me by many locals who touted the event. So I took a break from work to visit on my Saturday shift. Accompanying me was a lovely blue sky, plenty of doggos to adore and probably the last nice warm weekend day that Duluth would offer before those "other" seasons start to enter view.
